Aperto al pubblico secondo gli orari del Museo, e accolto al suo interno, il Centro di documentazione svolge attività di ricerca, organizzazione, catalogazione e informatizzazione di materiali e documenti. Indaga epoche ed aree geografiche diverse nonché ambiti tematici che a partire dal soggetto principale - giostre, tornei e giochi – giungono ad includere argomenti correlati quali costume, musica, danza e teatro, gastronomia, arte e letteratura, sui quali si sta costituendo una biblioteca specializzata.

Tra i risultati:

• Primo repertorio delle rievocazioni storiche italiane ed europee con 466 schede di manifestazioni, di cui 304 italiane, il resto inglesi, francesi, spagnole, tedesche.

• Ricerca bibliografica e catalogo informatizzato (programma Isis Winteca) con 1726 titoli, di cui 700 descrizioni bibliografiche provenienti dalla Biblioteca comunale di Foligno. Sia per la ricerca bibliografica che per quella iconografica l’indagine è svolta a livello europeo.

• Primo catalogo informatizzato delle stampe, dei dipinti, delle immagini e dei reperti tematici, costituito da 400 documenti.

• Primo catalogo (213 documenti) dei film e degli audiovisivi tematici, costruito su documenti degli ultimi cinquanta anni: documentari, telegiornali, cinegiornali, film in costume, capolavori di cinematografia.

• Primo censimento - 1150 realtà - delle arti e dei mestieri connessi all’ambito delle rievocazioni storiche.

The Documentation Centre

Located inside the museum and open to the public during regular museum hours, the documentation centre is a centre for the research, organization, cataloguing and computerized recording of materials and documents. It examines different eras and geographic areas as well as thematic frameworks that, starting with the main theme of jousts, tournaments and games also includes related themes such as costumes, music, dance and theatre, gastronomy, art and literature, on which a specialized library is being developed. Some results:

• First catalogue of Italian and European historical re-enactments with 466 files of events - 304 in Italy and the remainder from England, France, Spain and Germany.

• Research library and computerized catalogue (Isis Winteca program) with 1,726 titles, 700 of which are bibliographic descriptions from the Foligno Town Library. Both the bibliographic and iconographic research is carried out on a European level.

• The first database catalogue of prints, paintings, images and related materials; contains 400 references.

• The first catalogue (213 references) of films and thematic audiovisual materials, created with materials from the last fifty years: documentaries, newsreels, period films and cinematic masterpieces.

• The first census of the arts and trades related to historic re-enactments.
